MCM Metal Repousse Ship Plaques Triptych Set of 3 Signed Jerry Young Vintage (2) approximately 10x12” and (1) approximately 6x5.5”
This is a cool authentic triptych set of 3 mid-century modern metal relief repoussé wall plaques depicting stylized nautical sailing ships/Spanish galleons. This studio craft set features distinct textures and terrific artisan craftsmanship.
Artisan Details: The pieces are constructed with hand-shaped metal sheets mounted via perimeter studs onto raw plywood boards and signed by Jerry Young.
Material Variety: The set displays an elegant contrast of tones. The top plaque features a bright, textured brass/gold-toned finish, while the middle and bottom plaques are crafted from copper with a beautiful deep, natural aged patina.
Condition Notes: All three plaques are in nice vintage condition. The wood backing panels are sturdy. (There is a piece of one ply of wood missing from the back of the smaller art work.) The metal reliefs carry a gorgeous, authentic oxidation and aged coloration that gives them wonderful character with no deep gouges or missing studs.
Note: Perfect for collectors of nautical decor, Brutalist metal art, or 1960s-1970s American home studio crafts.
