While the stock versions are notorious for a harsh, brittle high-end and choked acoustics, this pair has undergone the two most essential, highly acclaimed DIY upgrades to completely transform their performance.Premium Modifications Executed:
C13 Polystyrene Gate Cap Upgrade: The cheap, harsh-sounding factory ceramic disc gate capacitors have been desoldered and replaced with premium 1000pF Polystyrene (Styroflex) film capacitors. Soldered directly to the underside trace side for the shortest possible high-impedance path, this upgrade completely tames the brittle 9kHz–15kHz \"pingy\" factory glare, yielding an incredibly smooth, warm, and professional top end.Acoustically Descreened Headbaskets: The restrictive, multi-layered inner fine wire mesh has been cleanly gutted from the headbaskets. Removing this choke point allows the 22mm capsule to breathe, drastically reducing internal phase reflections and clearing up the transient response for an open, uncolored sound.Condition & Notes:
