Beautiful antique children\'s book from Sophie May\'s popular Little Prudy Series, presented in a wonderful decorative pictorial cloth binding.

The blue cloth front cover features an elaborate dark blue and orange/yellow illustration of a young girl standing at an open window surrounded by flowers. The spine is also illustrated with a full-length image of the girl, making this an especially attractive antique book for display.

The book includes a black-and-white illustrated frontispiece captioned “Prudy Tells Aunt Madge Her Secret.”

The copyright page states:

Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1884, by Lee & Shepard

and

Copyright, 1892, by Rebecca S. Clarke

Rebecca Sophia Clarke wrote under the pen name Sophie May.

The interior is generally very clean and well preserved for its age, with expected age toning. Two small stains/marks are visible on the copyright page and its facing page, as shown in the photographs.

The binding remains intact and the pages are secure. At one page opening, a portion of the original binding/glue strip is visible along the inner gutter and itis photographed clearly for reference.

The decorative cloth exterior remains colorful and attractive, with age-related rubbing, fading and wear along the edges, corners and spine ends.
