The Lionel Santa FeNW-2 Switcher No. 623 was availablefrom 1952 through 1954. . It is equippedwith a three position directional unit. This engine has a die-cast metalchassis, a vertical worm drive motor that power two axles with Magnetraction,interior lighting at both ends, marker lenses, radio antenna and electroniccouplers. There is no operating horn on this diesel.
The unit being sold here operates perfectly. The motor commutator and brushes were cleanedand the motor runs perfectly. Inaddition, the upper and lower motor bearings were lubricated with syntheticliquid bearings lubricant. New syntheticgrease was applied to the gearbox and motor worm drive. The axles and center track rollers werelubricated with synthetic liquid bearings.The direction unit operates perfectly because the rotating drum andfingers were cleaned. There is no noisein the directional E unit.
The photos will show there are blemishes and surfaceimpressions on the engine. This engineis primarily intended for the operator, not the collector. After lubricating and cleaning, the engine was tested on operates with excellence.
