DC COMICSDAN MORAHIGHLY COLLECTABLE JASON MOMOA CAMEO(2026) VARIANT!Independent publisher Boom! Studios is the place where superstar artist DAN MORA began his professional career with the American comic book industry back in 2014 as penciler for Boom's fantasy-horror series, Hexed. Mora later penciled four issues of Boom's 2017-2018 ongoing series, WWE, which featured characters from the World Wrestling Entertainment promotion company in comic book format.
After 2018, Mora's work expanded to other titles with other publishers, but he found a home at DC Comics where he quickly became one of DC's most prominent artists of Batman family titles, creating cover art for Nightwing and Detective Comics as well as taking on penciling duties for Shazam! and Batman/Superman: World's Finest. In early 2026, Mora became a DC Comics exclusive artist.
Back in October 2025, All Elite Wrestling, an American wrestling promotion company similar to WWE, signed a promotional deal -- the biggest deal ever signed between a comic book publisher and a wrestling promotion -- with DC Comics to unite several of the AEW's main characters with DC's most prominent superheroes. The deal would see DC create and publish a two-issue comic book event uniting the Justice League with AEW wrestlers as well as AEW's agreement to promote DC's 2025-2026 event series, DC K.O., across their many digital platforms and social media channels.Variant covers featuring DC and AEW characters were also part of the agreement, and DC turned to wrestling comics experienced Dan Mora to do the honors for the DC K.O. series.
Mora's most recent wrestling-themed Variant Cover dropped in August 2026 with the release of Lobo #4 (Vol 3), a perfect fit for a series that launched following Lobo's involvement in the K.O. event and which follows his post-tournament motivations to scratch his name and number in the Source Wall at the end of the known universe.
Lobo #4's Variant by unites the series' anti-hero with actor JASON MOMOA, the actor who portrays Lobo in DC Studios' 2026 live action film, Supergirl. Momoa, whose physique and overall look would make him an easy addition to the world of wrestling, was never a professional wrestler, but the AEW-inspired vibes from Mora's K.O. work are evident here. And while the Variants link to Lobo / Momoa's appearance in Supergirl is unmissable, Mora's cover is not one of DC's Supergirl movie variants. Artist Simon Bisely created Lobo's movie variant cover, which was also published as a Variant Cover for Lobo #4.
