A truly stunning fern.
they are clump forming plants with a spread of 2\' wide and 1\' tall with delicate,feathery leaves (fronds). they need humidity and regular to moist soil. here in Seattle,they get plenty of rain,sothey are a no maintenance plant. if you live in a dry climate, plant them on the north side in shade, keep the soil moist and spray them often. grow them outdoors only.
these ferns are deer and rabbit resistant and are not bothered by bugs, slugs or disease.
perennial deciduous, hardy.
Zone: 5-9Sun:full shade to dappled shade.
Water: regular to moist.
Soil:rich, loamy, well-draining soil. Height: 1\' tall and 2\' wide.
Bloom time: no flowers.
I senddirections with all spores. spores are easy to grow as long as you follow my directions and have patience, lots of patience. they will take about 6 months from planting spores to having a fern. 1000 spores can yield allot of ferns. I use a plastic lidded container with no holes. fern spores need light to grow.you will need a clear plastic lidded container, like a deli container, a spray bottle and clean potting soil. the best lighting to use is a regular florescent light. fancy plant lights aren\'t any better and are a costly waist of your money. sprinkle the spores on moistened soil, then mist the spores in. do not put holes in the container. then put the lid on and put them under a florescent light. keep the bulb 2\" above the top of the container. do not put it in sunlight. you don\'t need a timer;you can just leave the light on all of the time. put them in a cool place at 60-65 degrees f. make sure they never dry out. if they dry out you will kill the developing spores. if they dried out you can water them again and the remaining spores may start to grow, so you will still get some ferns. once you see true ferns developing you can carefully take it out and plant it in a small pot to grow on. leave the rest to grow on. keep them moist at all times.
