• Evo VII / VIII / IX (Cross-Compatible Fitment): This radiator fits the Evo 7/8/9 chassis and physically mounts in the stock location. The upper radiator hose outlet is offset to the left of the engine bay, relocating the hose away from the exhaust manifold — which is an advantage for high-performance builds with larger manifolds. The Evo 5/6 upper radiator hose must be used (stock Evo 7/8/9 upper hose is not compatible). The lower hose remains vehicle-specific (use the correct lower hose for your specific Evo generation). The OEM Evo 7/8/9 airbox is NOT compatible with this radiator — aftermarket intake or modified routing is required.

The Koyo HH030939 is a 48mm full-aluminum HH Series racing radiator engineered for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV through IX, covering the 1996-2007 4G63T-powered AWD platform across the CN9A and CP9A Evo 4/5/6 chassis and the CT9A Evo 7/8/9 chassis. This radiator was designed with the Evo 4/5/6 as its primary application and is a true direct-fit replacement for those generations — however, its offset upper hose outlet position makes it one of the most popular radiator choices for Evo 7/8/9 owners as well. By repositioning the upper coolant hose outlet to the left of the engine bay, the HH030939 routes the hose away from the exhaust manifold, creating valuable clearance for larger aftermarket manifolds, turbo piping, and high-horsepower builds where space in the engine bay is at a premium.

For Evo 4/5/6 owners, this radiator installs directly into the stock radiator location with no chassis modifications, but requires the Evo 7/8/9 fan and fan shroud — the OEM Evo 4/5/6 fan assembly is not dimensionally compatible with this unit. For Evo 7/8/9 owners, the radiator physically mounts in the stock location, but the Evo 5/6 upper radiator hose must be used in place of the OEM Evo 7/8/9 upper hose. The lower hose remains generation-specific — Evo 8 owners should retain their Evo 8 lower hose. Additionally, the OEM Evo 7/8/9 factory airbox is not compatible with the offset outlet position of this radiator, making it best suited for vehicles already running aftermarket intake systems. The radiator is rated for manual transmission use; automatic transmission vehicles require a separate external transmission cooler.
