Vintage Klepper Kamerad-W Fiberglass Sailing Kayak – Vintage Sailing Package
Offered for sale is my vintage Klepper Kamerad-W fiberglass tandem sailing kayak, believed to date from approximately the 1970s.
This is an unusual vintage Klepper rigid fiberglass kayak with a blue deck and white hull. The original Kamerad-W model name is still clearly visible on the deck.
The kayak has been in our possession for many years and was actually used with its sailing rig. One of the photographs in this listing shows this actual kayak assembled and sailing approximately 12 years ago.The kayak was previously sailed with this equipment, as shown in the historical photo included in the listing. Because the rig has not been assembled recently, I cannot guarantee that every original component or fitting is present. Everything included in the sale is shown in the photographs.
Included with the kayak are the vintage sailing equipment and accessories pictured, including:
- Two Klepper-marked sails
- Mast and spars
- Sailing rigging and hardware
- Wooden leeboards/sailing components
- Wooden paddles/oars
- Additional vintage Klepper-related equipment shown in the photographs
PLEASE NOTE SAIL CONDITION: The original sails have sustained rodent damage while in storage and will need repair or replacement. They are included because they retain their Klepper markings and are part of the vintage sailing package. Please examine the photographs carefully.
Condition note:The fiberglass hull and deck show age-related cosmetic wear, scratches and marks consistent with a kayak of this age.There is a small area of chipping/wear along the fiberglass cockpit rim/coaming, as shown in the photos. The kayak also has normal cosmetic scratches, scuffs and wear consistent with its age. Please review photos carefully for condition.It has not been recently tested on the water, and I have not recently assembled the entire sailing rig.
All equipment is being sold as pictured and as-is. I am not representing that every original component is present. Additional photographs and measurements can be provided upon request.
This would make an interesting boat for a Klepper collector, vintage kayak enthusiast, small-craft sailor or restoration project.
