A richly ornate Kashmiri enameled and gilt copper footed bowl from the 19th century (possibly earlier) of stunning workmanship. It is4.5 inches in diameter, 3.5 inches tall, and weighs 15 oz.The design is worked in raised and gilded relief, the gold finely stippled by hand. Enamel is set into recesses within the raised gold walls in vibrant shades of cobalt and turquoise, with accents of green, white and rose.
In good antique condition. The enamel is largely intact and saturated in color. There is a good deal of gilt loss and a small damaged area consistent with its age. The exposed copper on the interior has a beautiful blue patina.
