This beautiful Southwest landscape painting was done by Arizona artist June Wagoner (1920-). It is titled \"September Gold\" and shows a Navajo family travelling by horse drawn wagon through Canyon de Chelly near the White House Ruin. It is signed in the lower left and signed and titled on the back. It is oil on canvas board. The painting measures 18\" x 24\". With frame, it measures 26.5\" x 32.5\". The frame has gapping at the two lower corners and looks to have been a little tweaked or twisted. But, the painting is in great vintage condition.
June Wagoner (1920- ) is an American landscape painter known for her vibrant oil and watercolor paintings depicting the American Southwest. After relocating to Sedona, Arizona later in life, she captured the unique geological features and light of the region\'s canyons and red rock country. She married William \"Bill\" Wagoner in 1940. They spent decades exploring and photographing the canyons of the Southwest. Wagoner\'s work focuses heavily on the majestic rock formations, deep canyons, and shifting light of Arizona. Her style balances traditional landscape rendering with a unique celebration of local textures. Beyond her fine art, her archival collection of historical 1940s–1950s canyon photographs and journals is preserved by the Museum of Northern Arizona.
