Boeing 777-212(ER), manufacturer serial number 32336, was delivered new to Singapore Airlines in 2002 as 9V-SVL before being returned to Boeing as N817BC upon retirement in March 2018, briefly joining Air New Zealand as ZK-OKI in basic Singapore Airlines colors, then returning to Boeing as N943BC and later flying for Surinam Airways as PZ-TCU wearing a \"93% Forest, 100% Surinamese\" special livery promoting the country\'s rainforest conservation. Re-registered N861BC and returned to Boeing in 2022, the aircraft now serves as the company\'s ecoDemonstrator testbed, trialing sustainable aviation fuel blends and autonomous taxi technology at air shows and test facilities.
Boeing 777-200ER Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world\'s largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world\'s largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing\'s first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection. Standard varients have a range of 4,200 nautical miles while Extended Range (ER) variants can fly for 6,600 nautical miles and the Longer Range (LR) variant is the world\'s longest range airliner capable of flying 7,800 nautical miles.
