Boeing 757-222, serial number 25397, entered service with United Airlines as N549UA in January 1992. The aircraft joined United\'s extensive 757 fleet and operated domestic and international services throughout North America, Hawaii, and other markets. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW2040 engines, N549UA combined excellent runway performance with useful range and passenger capacity. It remained with United until March 2015 before being converted to a freighter and exported to Belgium as OO-TFC. The aircraft\'s long United career demonstrated the versatility that made the Boeing 757 one of the airline\'s most useful narrowbody types.

Boeing 757-200 Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy.
