This is a beautiful, thoughtful, and realistic landscape with an over the top ornate gold gesso frame. It was originally purchased as a Lake George scene but research could not confirm. It’s almost a pastoral feeling landscape with fantastic shadows and sheep. Scottish highlands may be another possibility. A great research project as while signed, the artist remains unidentifiable. There is some faint inscription on the back in graphite pencil. Overall this is a high quality profession grade painting in an incredible period frame ready to display! Out of my own collection, this painting measure about 28.5” wide by 20.5” tall including the frame. The sight measures about 17.5” wide by 9.5” tall.
