Hooker Competition Long Tube Headers - Ceramic Coated 2455-1HKR

Fits 1970-1972 Camaro, 1970-1974 Monte Carlo, 1964-1974 Chevelle/El Camino/Sprint/Caballero, 1971-1974 Full Size: 396-502, Primary Tube Size 2\" x 30\", Collector Size 3.5\", Collector Length 10\", Port Shape: Same As Port. Hooker Competition headers offer the best value in the high performance header market. Designed for the value-conscious buyer, Hooker Competition headers offer premium features at a very competitive price. Made of durable 16 gauge mild steel tubing, the Hooker Competition header design utilizes a long transition collector to reduce back pressure and increase exhaust flow. A perfect sealing surface is assured with the 3/8\" machined flanges. Experience has proven that this flange size is ideal to maintain header integrity and be pliable enough to seal each exhaust port. Tubing is mandrel-bent to maintain metal strength and provide consistent tube diameter at radii to maximize performance. Hooker Competition headers have a standard finish that features a heat-cured, high-heat-resistant paint. Optionally, the famous Hooker Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating is available.. Does not fit with raised port heads. Factory style big block stands and motor mounts must be used to ensure proper engine locations. Long-tube headers do not include reducers. Do not use header wraps; they can cause header tube cracking from excessive heat or rust from moisture build-up and void the warranty. Breaking in an engine with ceramic-coated headers can damage the coating and void the warranty. Use cast-iron exhaust manifolds or old headers during engine break-in to prevent coating damage. Ceramic-coated headers require several heat cycles to fully cure before withstanding extreme heat.
