Offered here is a beautiful vintage 1980 First Edition of Hiroshige: A Shoal of Fishes, published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Viking Press.
The book itself is exceptionally clean and appears completely unread. The interior is flawless based on inspection of the copy shown in the photographs.
The book features Hiroshige\'s beautiful Japanese fish designs reproduced in a distinctive accordion-style format, allowing the illustrated panels to unfold continuously.
The original red cloth-covered book is included with its original slipcase.

Slipcase Condition: Very good overall with minor shelf wear from storage
Important: The slipcase does have minor shelf wear, which is visible upon close inspection. The book itself is in substantially better condition and appears essentially pristine.
This is the original 1980 Metropolitan Museum of Art / Viking Press publication, not an original 19th-century Hiroshige woodblock-print book.
The book contains 20 double-page color reproductions printed on a continuous sheet folded in accordion/concertina fashion, followed by information concerning the fishes, seasons and poems.
