Heinie Hartwig(1937-). Oil on board. 5” x 7” sight size, matted and framed (9\" x 11\'\'). This one could probably be titled \"Indian Encampment at Sunset.\" Hartwig has won many awards, including the Triton Museum Competition. His paintings have sold at sale - Butterfields, Christie\'s and Phillips of London. He\'s professionally listed in art references, including Davenports, Leonard\'s and Who\'s Who in American Art. His paintings of Indian encampments are his specialty. Paintings of this size routinely retail at Galleries in the neighborhood of $1500 or so.
I have enjoyed this painting, viewing it almost every day on a stand, for over 20 years. At age 82 it is time to disperse many possessions that my kids and grandkids do not treasure as I do.
