Hawaii Myths Fairy Tales 1924 1st Ed. Signed by Author + Two Handwritten Letters For Sale

Seven images of this 102-year-old, author signed (i.e., please see image #3 below) first edition are shown below. Also, two, signed, handwritten letters by the author (described below) are affixed to the rear endpapers. The book is: In the Path of the Trade Winds, by Cora Wells Thorpe, Published by G. P Putnam\'s, 1924, first edition. It measures 8 3/4\" x 6\" and is 198 pages and in Very Good condition with some fading and wear to the binding, with a preliminary page carelessly opened along the fore-edge, and with some additional gentle wear. There are occasional, in-text decorations by Charles K. Stevens, and there are three, full-page, photographs (e.g., please see image #2 below). Stevens also has fully decorated the endpapers (please see image #4 below for a detail). The introduction is by Sanford B. Dole, first Governor and President of the Republic of Hawaii. Image #5 below is the table of contents. The 15 myths and legends include \"...fairy tales drawing freely from the supernatural\". Two handwritten letters signed by the author are affixed to the rear endpapers. The first is a positive reply to an individual\'s request for a signed copy of the book. In the second, written about two months later, Thorpe apologizes for the delay in sending the book, due to the fact that she and her son were in quarantine for a month because of his scarlet fever. There is no former-owner\'s bookplate inside, no writing (except the author\'s) inside, no foxing, and there are no loose pages. The book will be shipped in a solid new box anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii, via USPS Media Mail for free.
