Claude Monet à Giverny Limoges porcelain covered trinket box featuring the distinctive yellow, blue and white design associated with Monet’s table service at his home in Giverny, France. The Monet service was reproduced in Limoges beginning in the 1970s based on the tableware created for Monet.
This is an exceptionally scarce rounded form from the collection. Extensive searches of current and archived market listings have not located another example of this exact rounded trinket box form.
Finished in bright yellow with hand-painted blue filet decoration and a white circular center. The underside is marked “Claude Monet à Giverny,” “filets faits main,” “Limoges France,” and numbered 9 in red.
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. Measurements are in photos.
