- DO NOT PICK THE WAX: The black material sealing the bamboo pipes to the hardwood chamber is natural insect wax (Channarong). This is essential for keeping the instrument airtight. It is not dirt or packing material! Please do not press hard on it or attempt to remove it.
- Acclimation is Required: Upon arrival, please allow your Khaen to sit outside of its packaging at room temperature for 24β48 hours before playing to adjust to your local climate.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: As a natural bamboo instrument, never store your Khaen near radiators, heating/air conditioning vents, or in direct sunlight to prevent the bamboo from cracking or the wax from melting.
