Beautiful handmade yellow qipao (旗袍), purchased in Shanghai approximately 10 years ago and made by a Shanghai tailor using 100% silk.
The highlight of this piece is the beautiful traditional embroidery, which gives the dress an elegant and distinctive look. It has a very flattering, fitted silhouette that beautifully follows and accentuates the curves of the body.
I originally paid around RMB 3,000 (~US$400+) for it, and it has been carefully kept over the years. Unfortunately, it is now too slim for me, so I’m hoping it can find a new home where it can be enjoyed.
