L. W. S. Stanley Service (Cleveland, Ohio): L. W. S. Stanley was a prominent early-20th-century lithographic printer, advertising firm, and wholesale display company located in Cleveland. They specialized in commercial point-of-sale store displays, paper banners, and promotional trade advertising during the 1910s and 1920s.Cleveland was a major industrial and distribution hub for the Midwest in 1917. L.W.S. Stanley Service produced these window banners in bulk and distributed them through commercial sales channels to independent soda fountains, pharmacies, and confectionery shops across Ohio and surrounding states. The specific graphic illustrator remains an uncredited commercial artist employed by L.W.S. Stanley, which was standard for advertising lithography houses at the time.Good Pre-owned condition. It is affixed to a foam board and was that way when I acquired it. You could most likely get if off if you want, but it worked for me. The color is still very vibrant and no color is missing. There is some mild discoloration abound the edges as expected with age. There is some tears or splits on the bottom of the sign. Some mild creasing or wrinkling. Minor chipping and edge wear along the bottom. This is a great original Vintage piece that was intended to be destroyed and not saved.
