Before there was the rage...
There was the pain.
This original 10x16 artwork is my personal tribute to the legendary 1970s/80s Incredible Hulk television era, inspired by the unforgettable physical presence of Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk and the tragic story of David Banner and his beloved wife, Laura.
Rather than creating another simple Hulk portrait, I wanted to capture something much more emotional — the Hulk as a tragic figure rather than simply a monster.
The Hulk carries Laura through the wreckage while surrounded by destruction, debris and the aftermath of tragedy. His enormous strength contrasts with the helplessness of the woman in his arms, creating a scene built around loss, anger, protection and sorrow.
The original Incredible Hulk television story established David Banner as a man haunted by the death of Laura, whose tragic car accident becomes a defining part of his life and the emotional foundation of his transformation into the Hulk.

Every mark, shadow and detail was created as part of this individual original artwork.
The heavy pencil shading, dramatic lighting and rough environmental textures were intentionally used to create the feeling of a dark cinematic Hulk scene captured on paper.
