Famous Negro Sermons by French E. Oliver published in 1927. French Oliver was a preacher who claimed to have gathered the sermons in this book from various Black preachers. They are presented in the phonetic Southern Black vernacular of that era. Flexible red leatherette wrapper cover with yapped edges. Book has 173 pages and measures 4\" x 3\". Considering the age, it\'s in good shape, but does have some age wear. Pages are secure and tightly bound but have yellowed with age. A few have creasing at corner tips. There is writing on the front page. Cover has some areas with wear.....small piece torn on bottom edge of front cover, small tears, wear at corners. Please see all the close-up photos. There was a newspaper clipping inside that mentions the family of the original owner. I will include it when I ship.
