Genuine Antique Fishing Lure W.T.J. Lowe Large Star Tandem Spinner #3/0 c.1890’s For Sale

William T. J. Lowe operated an influential early Fishing Tackle business in Buffalo NY, crafting, pioneering high quality metal spinner baits and trolling lures from the 1892 - 1915. This very collectible Large (double #3/0 Star Blades) Star Tandem Spinner measures 13” long from the front of the barrel swivel line tie to the back end of the feather dressed treble hook. The large #3/0 blades are both 2/3 polished Nickel and 1/3 polished brass on the convex side of the blades and painted red on the concave side. On the convex side, both blades are stamped 3/0 W.T.J. Buffalo N.Y. On the polished nickel portion, and on the Polished Brass portion is stamped Registered Trade Mark with the Star/L Logo. Both blades have soldered loop lugs, brass bead bearings resting against a soldered brass ring. The shaft is a 1/8” diameter brass rod with a brass barrel swivel line tie, and a large feather dressed treble hook on the bussiness end. This bait would have been trolled for Muskie, large Lake Trout, and Salmon. This is a rare hard to find collectible bait, especially with #3/0 blades.
