Ancient Roman silver or billon antoninianus of Emperor Gallienus, who ruled jointly with his father Valerian beginning in AD 253. This early coin was probably struck at the Rome mint circa AD 253–254.
Obverse: Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right. Legend appears to read IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG.
Reverse: Jupiter standing left, holding a thunderbolt in his extended right hand and a long vertical scepter in his left. Reverse legend appears to read IOVI CONSERVA, meaning “To Jupiter the Preserver.”

The coin measures approximately 23.3 by 20.4 millimeters and weighs 4.81 grams.
The coin appears to have been lightly cleaned at some point in the past. It exhibits general circulation wear, surface roughness and porosity, scattered brown toning or deposits, areas of weak detail, an irregular flan, and minor edge irregularities. The portrait is well defined for the type, Jupiter’s figure remains clearly identifiable, and substantial portions of both legends are readable.
