The SER2A08012S is the long-lead A2L refrigerant detection sensor Goodman specifies for its R-32 cased coils and its larger variable-speed air handlers. Manufactured by Sensata for Daikin North America and supplied with an 8-foot lead, it sits in the factory bracket inside the coil cabinet, samples the surrounding air for R-32 concentration, and reports to whatever control is running the mitigation logic — an A2L-equipped furnace board, a furnace integration kit, or a zoning control kit. The extra three feet of wire over the 5-foot SER2A05012S is the entire point: on a cased-coil installation the harness has to leave the coil and reach the furnace control board, which a 5-foot lead will not do.
