Flaming June, painted in 1895, depicts a sleeping woman curled into a compact pose beneath cascading translucent orange drapery. Behind the figure, a narrow architectural opening reveals the brilliant surface of the Mediterranean Sea, while flowering vegetation appears at the upper right. The painting belongs to the collection of the Museo de Arte de Ponce and is among Leighton\'s late treatments of the reclining female figure.
