Mondo’s original release information confirms this was an extremely small 125-print edition, hand numbered and produced by D&L Screenprinting using metallic inks.
This is also an early piece from what became the golden era of Mondo’s limited-edition movie poster program. Bertmer later returned to Jodorowsky with his Santa Sangre Mondo print.
PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED
This example has already received a substantial custom presentation and is being sold framed as pictured.
The artwork has been triple matted, complementing the orange, silver/gray and cream tones of the original screen print, and finished in a black frame.
The metallic inks are especially striking in person and change character depending upon the lighting.
Please review all photographs carefully. Reflections visible in the photographs are from the glazing and room lighting and are not part of the artwork.
The print has remained protected behind the framing while in my possession.
I am not representing the piece as mint simply because inspecting every portion of the paper would require removing it from the professional framing. Please use the photographs to judge condition, and I am happy to provide additional detailed photographs to a serious buyer.
A VERY DIFFICULT BERTMER / MONDO PRINT TO FIND
With only 125 produced, examples don’t surface frequently. A separate documented example, #77/125, has previously been handled as a collectible original screen print by a specialist rare-book/art dealer.
Even shortly after its original release, collectors were already looking for sold-out copies of Bertmer’s Holy Mountain.
Bertmer himself later wrote about finally receiving his copies from D&L and praised the finished screen printing.
