ENTWINED METAPHORS by Florence Putterman (1927-2021)
FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER ART PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK in original dust jacket
HAND-SIGNED by the abstract painter (personalized to my grandfather Peter Laszlo Koenig who reviewed her body of work in 2001 - see page 128) Florence Putterman is exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum & the Art Institute of Chicago.
This 2009 first american edition hard cover book with it's original dust jacket comes with an LOA (letter of authenticity) ON REQUEST & full provenance / history below
This is in NEW condition. There is no foxing or wear. The dust jacket is nearly pristine (one small mark on spine, otherwise it is NEW).
***The primary value comes from the mint condition and the fact that it is signed and inscribed. In the rare book market, an artifact that contains a lengthy, written review inside by an authoritative art critic holds significant collector appeal for scholars researching the Sarasota art scene or 20th-century regional critics.***
ONE OWNER, Peter Laszlo Koenig (1933-2024) - a curator, museum director & art professor. (And my grandfather by marriage). See images for his bio.
AN LOA CERTIFYING AUTHENTICITY CAN BE PROVIDED ON REQUEST. This is from the extensive art collection of Peter Laszlo Koenig (1933-2024). Peter graduated from Harvard & was a well known curator & museum director who held museum positions all over the world (also attached is his bio). We cannot confirm exactly when this book was signed or obtained but he probably met Fritz at the MacDowell Art Colony in New Hampshire or met through connections with Southwestern universities - both were teachers around the same time.
More items from my grandfather’s collection will be listed in the future - fine art posters, prints, woodcuts, hand signed books & an extensive collection of African & Papua New Guinea tribal pieces (if not donated to a local museum).
Please note - response is very important to sellers. We no longer leave response until it is received from buyers. Thank you for understanding.
