Very rare color and piece
Beautiful vintage Fenton Plum Opalescent Hobnail pedestal compote, produced during Fenton’s short-lived Plum Opalescent period around 1959–1961. This striking piece features rich translucent plum-colored glass, classic raised hobnails, a clear pedestal foot, and a dramatic hand-formed ruffled rim finished with beautiful white opalescence.
The color is especially attractive where the deep plum glass transitions into the soft milky-white opalescent edging. Because Fenton’s ruffled glass was hand formed, the folds and crimps give each piece its own individual character.
Approximate measurements:
* 5.5” tall
* 6.5” across the widest part of the ruffled rim
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are part of the description.
A gorgeous Mid-Century Fenton art-glass piece and a wonderful addition to a Fenton, Plum Opalescent, Hobnail, ruffled glass, or vintage American art-glass collection.
