Offered for sale is a beautiful vintage Fenton Art Glass Lily of the Valley handled basket, identified as Fenton form #8437.
This decorative basket features Fenton's detailed Lily of the Valley floral design, with raised bell-shaped flowers, flowing leaves, stems, and deeply molded botanical decoration surrounding the body.
The glass has a rich warm amber / Cameo Opalescent appearance, with attractive variations in depth and translucency as light passes through the molded glass. The upper edge has a dramatic ruffled and scalloped form, while the tall applied handle gives the basket a graceful vertical profile.
This is an attractive example of American decorative art glass and displays beautifully when illuminated or placed near natural light.
About Fenton Art Glass
The Fenton Art Glass Company was founded in 1905 and became one of America's best-known manufacturers of decorative and collectible art glass.
Fenton moved its glassmaking operations to Williamstown, West Virginia, in 1907, where the company produced its famous art glass for generations.
Fenton became especially well known for opalescent glass, unusual colors, hand-finished forms, decorative baskets, floral patterns, and highly detailed molded designs.
Lily of the Valley Pattern
The Lily of the Valley pattern is recognizable by its abundant raised floral decoration. Small bell-shaped blossoms appear among sweeping leaves and stems, creating substantial texture and visual depth throughout the basket.

Very Good Vintage Condition.
There is one very small chip measuring approximately 1/16 inch along the inside edge of the basket. It is quite small but is fully disclosed for accuracy.
At one of the interior areas where the handle joins the basket, there is a small amount of material or surface irregularity that has an appearance somewhat similar to clear adhesive, glass residue, or material associated with the handle attachment.
We do not see an obvious crack line extending from this area. Because we cannot determine with certainty whether the material is an original manufacturing / handle-application characteristic or evidence of a previous repair, we are disclosing the area rather than making a definitive claim either way.
No other obvious chips or cracks were found during our inspection.
