Available for purchase is a collectible vase made by the Fenton Art Glass Company in Williamstown, West Virginia. This vase appeared in the 1997 General Catalog as part of Fenton\'s \"Irises on Misty Blue Satin\" collection. It was listed in the catalog as a tall feather vase (item #2782 LS). Designed by Martha Reynolds, the vase features 3 panels of hand painted irises separated by vertical feather bands. The iridescent \"misty blue satin\" color was described as the \"softest and most feminine blue\" ever produced by Fenton. The iris decoration was a tribute to the popular flower\'s persistence at long-abandoned home sites in the West Virginia countryside.The vase is shaped with wide shoulders that taper towards the flared base. The ruffledtop is trimmed in opalescent white. The vase stands about 10 3/4\" tall (listed in catalog as 11\") and the body measures approximately 5 1/4\" at its widest point. The underside of the base is marked with the molded oval Fenton logo containing the number \"9\" (hard to see), indicating that it was made during the decade of the 1990s. The original foil label is missing. The underside is also marked \"hand painted by S Stephens\" (Sandy Stephens) in script. I purchased this vase at a recent estate sale that featured a nice collection of fine Fenton items. I do NOT have the original box.Condition of this Fenton Misty Blue Satin vase is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or fleabites. I don\'t see any scratches or wear to the paint. This vase looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a wonderful addition to any Fentonglass collection.
