A beautiful original landscape painting by the English artist Ernest Charles Walbourn (1872–1927), depicting a peaceful sunlit stream flowing through the Devon countryside.
The painting features a wonderfully atmospheric landscape, with a large mature tree dominating the composition, lush greenery, a winding stream and a softly illuminated countryside beyond. Walbourn’s expressive brushwork and rich impasto give the surface considerable texture and depth, particularly visible in the foreground and foliage.
The work is signed with the artist’s initials in the lower left.
