A refined Japanese lacquer ikebana vase decorated with an elegant combination of maki-e (gold lacquer) and raden (mother-of-pearl inlay).
Its striking design, featuring abstracted waterwheel motifs rising in rhythmic arcs, blends traditional craft with a sophisticated modern sensibility—an excellent example of mid-20th-century lacquer artistry.
The tall cylindrical form, fitted with a detachable metal handle, makes it ideal for seika, rikka, or contemporary ikebana arrangements. The deep black lacquer surface provides a dramatic contrast to the shimmering raden inlays, creating a captivating presence in any interior.
Comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako).
