This is an antique Japanese sword tsuba from the Edo period.

It is made of well-forged iron with a solid and substantial weight.

Tomitomi is known as a skilled metalworker associated with the Kawaji family, and is said to have been the 7th generation craftsman connected with the Mori family of Choshu.
