This early post war Japanese friction powered tin car is a Gmen car. It is marked Japan just under the rear license plate.
This friction tin car rolls forward on two tin rubber edged rear drive wheels and two tin front wheels. The car has bumpers front and rear and embossed details on the hood. Litho details include driver and passenger seen thru the split front windscreen and the side windows and a siren and lights on the roof.
The car is 4 inches (10.16 cm) long and 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) wide. Height to the top of the roof is 1.25 inches (3.17 cm). The friction mechanism works well. Colors are bright. The plain tin underside of the car has darkened with age.
This G-Man car has the words Gmen printed across the hood. The red car looks like it was repuposed ( a famous Japanese trait) since the back license plate says F.D. 107 (Fire Dept?) and the passenger is wearing a fireman\'s helmet.
Condition overall is very good. There are small chips and some scrapes in the litho as these un-sold old stock cars may have bumped into each other in their group box .
