Vintage hand-carved and painted Mexican folk art sculpture featuring a horse-drawn wooden cart filled with red devil/diablo figures. Wonderful primitive construction with articulated elements, individually carved figures and strong early Oaxacan folk-art character.
Unsigned; exact maker and date are unknown. The piece has stylistic similarities to early Oaxacan woodcarving associated with the Manuel Jiménez tradition, but this piece has not been authenticated or attributed to Manuel Jiménez Ramírez and is being sold as artist unknown.
