EXCEPTIONAL antique CHINESE SILK EMBROIDERY TAPESTRY 27" x 17" FRAMED For Sale

Very fine antique Chinese silk tapestry with silk and metal embroidery. This tapestry depicts 3 figures, an elder man, a young woman and a young child together under a tree and involved together in an important ceremony of some sort. Both the child and the woman hold something ceremonial over their heads. An elaborate tree and bird are overhead.I don't work with fabric often and am not entirely certain but I believe this tapestry is made entirely from silk including the blue backing and most certainly the orange overall front. The orange silk front is also entirely hand loomed as you can see slight variation in weave when viewed closely. The silk and metal strand embroidery is supremely accomplished and creates depth in every detail portrayed here. Note the depth and character of the faces and gowns of the 3 main characters. This tapestry measures 27" by 17" and is in good or very good antique condition. It had been in this framing you see in the photos since circa 1930s. The tapestry itself may date to later 19th century. Pretty sure the tapestry is somewhat older than this framing which is the way I found this a few years ago here in the NW USA.I took this framed tapestry apart in order to show every aspect of condition and quality. The tapestry has not been glued or fastened to the backing and is loose as it was when first created. Both the front and blue backing silk are strong and in very good condition, not weak or deteriorating. The glass and framing have kept this tapestry in very good condition. The soft waviness is probably from hanging.I don't want to ship this glass so will replace the glass with sheet of new clear 1/8" plastic once sold. I can also ship tapestry without any framing depending on what buyer wants. We can communicate about shipping once sold.Always happy to ship to Mother China.Shipping shown is for shipping to the US or for shipping to hub for International shipping.Questions always welcome.
