The Digital Sound Block v2 expands on our previous DSB which was so well received. We listened to our customers and made some improvements to the electronics as well as the feel of the pad.
Digital Sound Block 2.0 Upgrades:
- Greatly improved electrical circuit that is now compatible with every major module we’ve tested on.
- Fixed an issue on some Roland modules where a longer sample would be “choked” when not intended.
- Heavier / more dense body and bracket for durability and stability.
- Updated Soft Strike pads with a better feel and much quieter stick noise. Eliminates the “boxy / airy” noise that some customers didn’t like about the previous model.
- Minor updates to manufacturing process & methods for better product longevity.
Notes on Compatibility:
Roland:
Our previous Sound Block required some specific Roland input settings and even needing to use a splitter cable in some instances. We are super happy to announce that our new DSB2.0 is now compatible with a variety of Roland input types and modules with excellent results!
Alesis:
We’ve had good success by making sure triggering is set to piezo/piezo, and adjusting head / rim sensitivity to your playing style. Specifically tested on DM10, Stratus Prime, and Stratus Core, but should be common across other modules.
Yamaha:
Some changes to pad type (2P if available) and crosstalk may be required, but overall shows really good compatibility.
2Box:
Digital Sound Blocks are fully compatible
eDRUMin:
This a midi controller often used when triggering VST. Our Digital Sound Blocks are fully compatible.
Simmons Titan:
No in-house testing, however, customers have given positive response stating that the Digital Sound Block works well with these modules.
EFNOTE:
No in-house testing. Requires further testing on our end. If you have an EFNOTE module and would like to work with us, please reach out!
Other Modules:
We are continuing to test and verify on other drum modules. If your drum kit isn’t listed here and you are interested in these accessories, please reach out. We are happy to work with you to figure out compatibility at no risk to you!
Note that eDrumPads.com is not affiliated with any of the brands listed above. This list is only to point out compatibility and will be updated as we test on more kits.
**For the nerds… We like the name Digital Sound Block, however there is nothing “digital” about it. This is an analog drum trigger with a passive circuit for some signal conditioning. No USB or power required.

Blending a love of music with the precision of modern engineering, eDrumPads designs and manufactures3D-printed digital drum padsright here in the USA. Our goal is simple: to create electronic percussion gear that’scompact, lightweight, rugged, and universally compatiblewith today’s leading drum modules.
Each pad is engineered with the same care and curiosity that sparked this company’s beginnings.
“As both a drummer and a mechatronics design engineer, I found myself wishing my electronic kit had the same tactile feel and creative options as my acoustic setup. I wanted a purpose-built digital cowbell or tone block. So, I decided to make it happen.”
From there, eDrumPads was born — a fusion of hands-on craftsmanship and technical innovation. Every unit isdesigned, printed, assembled, and testedin our small shop nestled in the mountains of Virginia, with the occasional helping hand from my wonderful family.
I take pride in every pad that leaves my bench and back it with a1-year warrantycovering repair or replacement. More importantly, we stand by our customers — offering real support, honest communication, and a community of drummers who love exploring new gear.
