Denmark 1882 20 Øre blue definitive featuring the Danish Coat of Arms, from the first issue of the classic Arms design with small corner numerals.
This issue was introduced in 1882 as Denmark adapted its postage-stamp colours to the recommendations of the Universal Postal Union. The 20 Øre value was printed in blue for the standard international letter rate.
An important feature is the small “20” numerals in the corners. These distinguish the original 1882 issue from the considerably more common later Coat of Arms stamps with larger corner numerals.
The central design shows the historic Danish national arms with three crowned lions and hearts, surrounded by the denomination and DANMARK / POSTFRIM inscriptions.

A desirable early Danish definitive and a good representative example of the scarcer small-corner-numeral type.
