Original vintage geological surveying compass manufactured by Freiberger Präzisionsmechanik in the former East Germany (DDR).
This professional Type 69 geological compass / clinometer was designed for geological fieldwork, directional measurements and inclination measurements.

The instrument has been functionally tested and its operation is demonstrated in the accompanying video.

The instrument shows authentic signs of previous field use. The mirror has a visible crack. There are scratches, marks, minor oxidation and general cosmetic wear consistent with age and use.
While the instrument has been tested and is working, professional calibration and measurement accuracy have not been independently verified.
