Cylindrite, massive specimen, Poopo, Bolivia For Sale

Here is a massive specimen of the rareLead, iron, tin, antimony sulfosalt, cylindrite. Well defined crystals all around the specimen, some well defined. not only is Cylindrite an extremely rare mineral, it\'s crystal shape is very unusual, being maybe the nly mineral species known to be forming cylinder shaped crystals, hence the name. By far the most well known and prolific locality for this mineral is the Santa Cruz mine, near lake Poopo, in Bolivia. This is actually one of the largest and heaviest specimens I have seen. Most of it is Cylindrite, but they seen to be growing around a core of a different sulfide mineral of a brassy nature. Fantastic specimen, impressive in size and scope for this are species and the locality in Bolivia, not often seen in this magnitude. from an old Bolivian collection.
