Ribbed plastic chassis, custom-applied graphic decals, hand-painted acrylic weathering, and repurposed US Navy Series #10 jewel cases.
Intentional hand-painted rust to the wheels, axles, and couplers of three of the four trains. The Death Dealer remains intentionally unweathered with clean black trucks to represent a later era.
Packaging: Housed in repurposed Micro-Trains clear acrylic jewel cases (originally from the US NAVY SERIES #10)
The "Guns A-Go-Go" Legacy
This custom set serves as a direct tribute to the legendary 53rd Aviation Detachment. During the Vietnam War in the mid-1960s, the U.S. Army experimentally converted a small number of standard CH-47A cargo helicopters into heavily armored gunships. Known as the ACH-47A (Attack Cargo Helicopter), these massive aircraft were outfitted with 20mm cannons, rocket pods, multiple .50-caliber machine guns, and a 40mm nose-mounted grenade launcher.
Only four of these heavily armored gunships were ever built, this lot honors a specific historical aircraft:"Stump Jumper" "Birth Control" "Easy Money" "The Death Dealer"
This lot commands a premium due to its status as a complete, unbroken historical narrative. Selling these individually would fracture the history of the 53rd Aviation Detachment.
