Referred to as the “bucket orchid”, due to its bucket-like pocket, it is perhaps one of the most bizarre and unusual orchids out there. Short-lived, the flowers last two to three days, but tend to re-spike continually for a period in the summer. Along with alborosea, my personal favorite of the genus.
