Chapel of Light is a striking architectural and artistic volume by Kenneth Treister, FAIA, an accomplished American architect, architectural historian, sculptor, photographer, author, and lecturer. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Treister is best known for designing the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach, Florida, one of the most significant and widely recognized memorial works in the United States. His work is collected and documented across architecture, sculpture, and fine art disciplines.

Published in 2000 by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations Press, this oversized hardcover was produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary and restoration of the Sophie and Nathan Gumenick Chapel, celebrating its return to its original luminosity. The book pairs thoughtful text with visual documentation, reflecting Treister’s deep engagement with sacred space, light, memory, and symbolic form. This is the first published edition of the work, issued in 2000.
