This rare, vintage, "Advance B-Series" model lever operated guillotine paper cutter was manufactured by Challenge Machinery Company in the USA. This cutter is designed to cut thick stacks of papers up to 26 1/2" wide with a 33 3/4" wide guillotine blade.
A hand wheel at the top of the machine controls a clamp mechanism which pins the stack of paper to be cut in place.
Below the bed of the cutter, a small hand wheel controls the back gauge which, with its flat edge, ensures a neat and precise cut and uniform sizing of each piece in a stack of paper.
