Extremely rare 1995 Cartoon Network WORLD PREMIERE TOONS press-kit promotional VHS set, These are NOT duplicate tapes.
These were press/industry promotional materials, not retail VHS releases, created around the February 1995 debut of Cartoon Network’s World Premiere Toons project.
The significance of World Premiere Toons is that it was Cartoon Network’s groundbreaking showcase for original animated pilot shorts. The project introduced early versions of characters and concepts that would develop into some of Cartoon Network’s most recognizable original series.
The program became associated with the beginnings of classics including Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and The Powerpuff Girls, among others.
Both tapes retain their distinctive World Premiere Toons / Cartoon Network press-kit packaging, featuring Hanna-Barbera artwork. The cassette labels state:
