Complete in six volumes - Vols. 1-4 are 1934 printings, Vols. 5-6 are 1950 printings. Uniform red cloth hardcovers with gilt titles on spines, text alongside b/w plates in each. Books show light scuffing and shelfwear with age, light bumping to corners, slight rubbing to edges, minor wear and tear over time. Hinges tired and a small bit of webbing visible in a couple volumes - b/w plate in Vol. 3 detached but present & all other pages intact. Various ownership names & stamps on front endpapers. Mild yellowing to page edges. Some underlining & notes by previous owner throughout, mostly confined to margins & not overly intrusive to text (see photos).
