WHY BUY A TESTED EXCHANGE BOARD INSTEAD OF JUST A CAPACITOR KIT?
After servicing, testing, repairing, and evaluating well over 1,000 Bose Wave control boards, we\'ve learned an important lesson: replacing capacitors does NOT always restore a control board to proper operation.
While failed capacitors are a common problem, they are not the only problem. Over the years we have encountered boards with capacitor leakage contamination, corrosion damage, failed electronic components, intermittent faults, physical damage, and unsuccessful repair attempts that left the board in worse condition than when it started.
Many customers purchase a capacitor kit hoping for a low-cost repair, only to discover that their control board still does not function properly after the capacitors have been replaced. At that point they have invested time, money, soldering equipment, and effort without knowing whether the board itself is actually repairable.
HERITAGE SOUND WORKS TAKES A DIFFERENT APPROACH.
Every exchange board is professionally serviced, fitted with new critical capacitors, and fully tested before shipment. There is no soldering required, no diagnostic guesswork, and no wondering whether the repair was successful. Simply install the board and enjoy your Bose Wave Music System again.
HOW THE EXCHANGE PROCESS WORKS:
After purchase, we ship a professionally serviced and fully tested exchange board to you first. Once your replacement board arrives and is installed, simply use the prepaid return label provided to return your original control board core.
Your returned control board must be in repairable condition. We understand that failed capacitors are common and we also understand that the small black ribbon cable connector is frequently broken or dislodged during servicing attempts. In most cases this connector damage is repairable and acceptable as a return core.
However, cores may be rejected if they have severe corrosion, burned traces, missing components, broken board sections, extensive pad damage, major trace damage from unsuccessful repair attempts, or other alterations that make professional restoration impractical or impossible.
This is an exchange service, not a scrap board purchase program. Returned cores must be suitable for professional restoration and future reuse.
If you are unsure whether your board qualifies, simply send us photos before purchasing and we will gladly review them.
