Up for sale is a 68mm M30 big bore throttle body. The throttle has been bored out 3mm all the way through and trumpeted on the intake side. With that, one side of the butterfly arm has been cut out to increase flow and a new butterfly plate has been made to match the larger bore. All of these changes amount to a 15% increase in flow.
Outside of the bore increase the throttle linkage has been updated replace the failure prone early design. All of the hardware has been refurbished or replaced.
I have one on my e34 535i and the difference is very noticeable. The power under the curve increases, the throttle response is greatly improved. As with most performance modifications on the M30, one alone will not provide a drastic increase in performance. A bored throttle is best coupled with upgrades that have introduced more fuel.
As far as compatibility, the throttle body fits all M30 3.2/3.4/3.5L engines that had the one piece intake manifold. This means all 5, 6 and 7 series cars from 1983 to 1992.
